About
How it started
Freedive Lombok Indonesia grew from what surfing and diving already share: staying calm, using your breath, moving with the ocean instead of against it. Freediving became the natural next step. It's why we sit inside Surfcamp Lombok: same water, same respect, same crew.
The team
Anne has been teaching diving in Indonesia since 2023. First as a PADI/SSI scuba instructor in Nusa Penida and Raja Ampat, freediving on every day off. In mid-2025 she started teaching freediving because freediving and surfing share more than people realise: breath control, body awareness, staying calm when it counts. She's a certified Apnea Total freediving instructor, PADI/SSI scuba instructor, first aid & rescue instructor, and a yoga teacher.
Choky is our freelance freediving instructor, certified through Molchanovs and SSI. He's also a PADI/SSI scuba instructor and first aid & rescue instructor, and one of the best spearfishing instructors of Indonesia. If the day lines up, you might end up out with him catching dinner.
More than freediving
Sometimes we take the sailing boat out and run freediving sessions from it, catch something for dinner after line training, or bring surfboards for a sunset session on the way back. Students who want more than a certificate end up on these trips.
What began as a bunch of ocean lovers, has evolved into complete experiences for adventure seekers. We’re proud of what we’ve built and are even more excited for what’s ahead.
What sets us apart is the intention behind it all. We take time to understand and explore with the people that want to understand the ocean from every angle.
